Obituary

Winefred Delores King Willis, known to her family as (Moot). She was born October 17, 1949, to the late Annie Lee King and Henry King. She was a graduate of Douglas High School in 1970. She attended Walton Technical School for License Practical Nursing. She worked at Southwestern State Hospital for 29 years as a Health Service Technician and part time at Southern Pines. She married Lester Willis on December 16, 2007. Her husband, two sons, and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed going to the gym (YMCA), yard sales, and going on trips. She was a member of Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church. She was a deaconess and sung in the choir. She was a fan of Facebook.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers, and sister.

She leaves to cherish: her husband, Lester Willis; two sons, Willie O. Thigpen and Christopher L. Thigpen, both of Thomasville, Georgia; two step-sons, Artis Willis of Detroit, Michigan and Michael Willis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one step-daughter, Tonjala (Martin) Morris; she leaves her precious, sweet grandchildren, Jamarion Sharp, Christopher Thigpen, Jr., Christyonice Thigpen, Christina Thigpen, Trinity Thigpen, Christian, Chad, and Chance Thigpen, Briana Kelsey, Mia, Donate, Tiffany, Michael, and Monce; she also leaves to cherish: her nieces and nephews, Gwendolyn Williams, Brenda Kelly, Deache Rollins, Patricia (Jeff) Jones, Henry (Ruth) King, Alphonso (Harriet) Kemp, Ella Kemp, Charlene Marshall, Gloria King, and Mary (Willie) Johnson; deceased nephews, William King, Jr., Allen Marshall, and Herbert Kemp; special friend, Gloria Sorall; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
