Samuel "Sammy" Blalock was born November 20, 1947 to the late Mr. Sam and Mrs. Flossie Birdsong Blalock in Thomasville, Ga.
He was raised in a loving home and accepted Christ at an early age, joining and serving Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church and Centennial Missionary Baptist Church.
In his Senior year, Sammy was a dual enrolled student at Douglas High School and Walton Vo-Tech where he studied Welding and graduated from Douglas High School in 1966. Upon graduation he served his country in the United States Air Force. He served proudly during the Vietnam War. While in the USAF he was trained as a Paint and Body Technician.
On June 3, 1972 he married the former Loretha Johnson and was the proud father of three children.
Sammy was very industrious and a hard worker. He was employed at Sunnyland Foods and Waverly Minerals.
He later became a member of the Thomas County Sheriff's Department, where he served on Sheriff's Posse and later promoted to Deputy II.
Sammy was also an entrepreneur with the following successful businesses; Blalock's Paint and Body Shop and Towing, Blalock's Tire Shop, and most popular Blalock's Ice Cream Truck.
On November 3 2021 he married Queen Mack; who was an excellent caregiver to him.
On April 25, 2022, God in his infinite wisdom chose to call Sammy home. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Queen Blalock, Thomasville, Ga. His children, Andrea N. Blalock, Tallahassee, FL., Samuel Reginald Blalock (Ciera), Hildebrandt, North Carolina, and Shannon R. Blalock, who was a devoted and loving caregiver. His children's mother, Loretha Johnson-Blalock. Three Grandchildren: Taylor Hunter, Reginald Blalock, and Karena Clayton (Fred) all of Thomasville, Ga.; Three Great-Grandchildren: Haylie, Kaliya, and Paisley; Two sisters: Barbara Walker, Tallahassee, Fl. and Sandra Kay Webb (William) of Albany, Ga.; Special cousins, Tommy and Linda Barnes. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Flossie Blalock; one sister: Betty Floyd; and one brother: Amos Blalock.
