Plumie W. Jackson, the daughter of the late Steve Wilson and Daisy Armster, was born on January 4, 1918, in Brooks County, Georgia. Plumie was united in Holy Matrimony to Dave Jackson on June 3, 1939, in Thomas County, and they were together for for 67 years. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2006. To this union, eight children were born.
She attended Thomas County Schools. Plumie was a member of St. James P.B. Church, Elder Jerry Payne, Pastor. Mother Jackson served on the Mother Board #1 Choir and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #169. She retired in 1983 from Southwestern State Hospital in the Laundry Department.
Plumie leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Fannie J. Ross, Mary J. Haugabrook, Annie J. Franklin, and Annie R. Jackson; sons, Robert (Shirley) Jackson and Jerome Jackson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Dave Jackson, Jr., and Roy Jackson (Gloria) Jackson; three sons-in-law, Wadell Ross, Sr., Hosea Franklin, Sr., and Johnnie Haugabrook; all sisters, brothers, and her parents.
She transitioned peacefully at her home on September 23, 2023, with her family.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2:00 PM, at Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Hatcher Peoples Funeral Home in Charge.
