Mary Graham Obituary

Mary Jane (Janie) Covington Graham entered this life on May 9, 1931 and made her exit on April 28, 2022. Born to the parents of Milton and Alberta Covington in Dixie, Brooks County Georgia. At this time of her demise, she was a resident of GlenMor Nursing home. She attended Barwick Colored School in Barwark, Georgia.

In May of 1951 she married Benjamin F. Graham. Together they reared his two sons Benjamin Jr and Lester both are now deceased, and grandson Calvin Graham survives.

Mary Jane was an ordained Minister of Disciples of Jesus Church under the leadership of Pastor Blake, she also loved to visit her family church St. John AME of Boston, Georgia. She loved to fish and shop.

Mary Jane is survived by a sister Bertha L. Hunter; five nieces: Gertrude Sloan, Francina Burns (Jim), Johnnie M. Lamons, Joyce Mitchell (Lannis), and Janet Hunter; five nephews: James Davis, Gary Covington (Sue), Jarvis Hunter, Jamey Hunter, and Jerel Hunter (Tina). A host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Two stepdaughters: Clara Campbell and Lessie Graham, and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
