The Obituary
Lorene Minatee Cone was born by Steve and Ceola Minatee on September 21, 1952.
Lorene began her education at Washington Consolidated High School in the Grady County school system.
She later attended College at the University of Wisconsin.
Later, she joined the United States Navy where she entered Radiomen “A” School, completing her training and advancing to RM3.
After completing her naval career, she gained employment at the Navy Weather Station in Norfolk, VA. She was later employed by the United
States Postal Service until retirement.
Lorene accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Willow Grove Missionary Baptist. She also joined Providence Missionary
Baptist Church of Thomasville, GA, and Fourth Street Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Kelly Mae Minatee, Steve Minatee, and the late Timothy Charles Virgil; daughter, Katrina
Virgil; granddaughter, Tamika Clanton; grandson, Timothy Clanton; grandson, Waqqid Clanton, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Madison Smith
of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Solomon Wilson Minatee (wife, Sabrina) of Birmingham, AL, Willie Bradshaw of Thomasville, GA,
and Lonnie Virgil of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
