Obituary
Lemon Scruggs, Jr. was born on July 17, 1945 in Boston, Georgia Thomas County. He was the oldest son of Lemon Scruggs, Sr., and Itist Rains Scruggs.
Lemon received his education from the Thomas County and Thomas City School Systems, graduating from Douglas High School in 1963. While there he was a member of the marching band playing the trombone.
After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. He served three years and was honorably discharged as a Sargent.
Upon returning home from the military, Lemon Became an active member of the Men About Town Club. This group provided baskets of food for the needy as well as helping in many other ways. He was recognized for his work with that group. He was actively involved with the James Hicks American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 519 and served in many capacities for over fifty years.
As a 1963 graduate of Douglas High School Lemon was engaged in the activities of the Alumni association. He served as the group's treasurer.
Lemon was employed at the South Western Facility in Thomasville, Georgia retiring after many years of service.
On February 4, 2023, Lemon transitioned to be with the Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his parents Lemon Scruggs, Sr. and Itist Rains Scruggs; sisters Essie Scruggs Revels and Everlena Scruggs.
