A life wonderfully lived. Jarusha Johnson was born on December 20,
1946, in Boston, Georgia. She was the fourth of seven blessings to the late Robert Julius Johnson and Rosa Lee Williams Johnson. She received her education in the Thomas County, Georgia, school system, Early in life, Jarusha confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Trinity Baptist Church of Boston, Georgia. She served there faithfully and sang in the church choir, which gave her such great joy.
Jarusha suffered from epilepsy most of her life and has resided in Detroit, Michigan, Delray Beach, Florida, and most recently in Birmingham, Alabama. She never married nor had any biological children. She was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she served as a joyful choir member, and she was an active member of both the Sunday Church School and Senior Women Bible Study.
Jarusha was preceded in death by three siblings, James Herbert Johnson of Boston, GA, Bertha Johnson of Delray Beach, FL, and Robert Louis Bill" Johnson of Oakland, CA.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: four sisters, Maggie Delois Smith of Oak Park, MI, Mary Helen (Wilbert) Grant of Detroit, MI, Lillian Newsome of Birmingham, AL, and Rosetta Johnson of McDonough, GA; special nieces and nephews, William Darnell Johnson of Dallas, TX, Joyce Johnson of Miami, FL, Jytalia Dylene Childs of McDonough, GA, Lora Yvette Jackson of Chesapeake, VA, Xylphilia Johnson of Thomasville, GA, and Derek Newsome of Birmingham, AL: special cousins, Annie Mae Robinson and Johnnie Lee Williams, both of Boston, GA, Linda Bernard, and Ethel Mae Brooks, both of Delray Beach, FL, Arunita "Tat" (Leonard) Christian of Thomasville, GA, and Shirley Ann (Charlie) Scott of Seiner, FL and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
