Obituary
Brother James Gloster, Sr., was born February 11, 1937, to his parents, the late Elder Thomas Gloster, Sr., and Mother Maebell Plummer Gloster in Thomas County, Boston, GA. He was educated in the Thomas County school system and graduated from New Union High School in 1956.
He was converted at an early age and joined New Jerusalem Church of God in Unity under the pastorship of his father, Elder Gloster.
On August 27, 1957 James and Betty Pickett were joined together in Holy Matrimony and to this union three sons were born, Ricky, James, Jr. and Roger. In the year of 1964 James moved
his family to Philadelphia, PA. In Philadelphia James was employed as an independent truck driver until his retirement in 2002. He and his wife moved back home in Georgia in December
2007. Upon his return to Georgia he reconnected his membership to New Jerusalem Church of God in Unity where he served faithfully and enjoyed playing his guitar, singing in the choir,
Sunday School and Church Services.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Betty; two sons Ricky (Maria), James Jr. (Renee); devoted sister Louise G Cooney Jackson (Bishop Leroy Jackson, Jr.); one brother-in-
law, Rev Mike Picket & wife, four sisters-in-law, twelve grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Gracie Gloster Gilley Davis, Mable Gloster Abrams and adopted adopted Carolyn Gloster Pruitt; two brothers, Thomas Jr. and John Gloster; and one son, Roger Gloster.
