Willie Elijah Jones born July 20th 1944 in Thomas County, Ga. to the late Will Ira & Ruby Lee Kirk Jones. He was the eldest of 3 boys. Willie grew up in his grandparents home the late Rev. Willie Kirk, Sr. & Mollie McGriff Kirk. A family of singers. Willie attended the public schools of Thomasville in Thomasville, Ga. He joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church as a teenager. He later moved his membership & service to Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church. Willie's mother taught him and his brother Lawrence how to sing. He developed his gift and talent. Willie met and married Voncile Stafford and to that union Reginald, Will, and Zyhar. Willie had several odd jobs but most of all he loved to sing. He joined his brother Lawrence and the Mark IV group for a short period of time. Willie's health began to fail while he was caring for his aging mother. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Vonceil Jones; children, Reginald Jones, Willie Jones, Jr., Zynar Jones, Pamela Jones, Wilnita Jones, Andissa Jones, and Steven Jones; grandchildren, Chrisshenda, Chris, Teaquan, Veronica, etc...; brother, Lawrence (Joyce) Jones; niece and nephew, Tasha and Lawrence Jr., 12 great grands, a host of other relatives and friends.
