A Time To Be Born Willie J. Bowdry, Jr., was the first born to Willie J. Bowdry, Sr., and Marine Bowdry in Thomas County, Thomasville, GA, on February 6, 1957. A TIME TO LEARN Mr. Bowdry was a 1975 graduate of Thomasville High School. He also attended Southwest Georgia Area Technical School where he studied auto mechanics. A TIME TO SERVE Mr. Bowdry accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour at First Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville, GA, under the leadership of Reverend Charlie Ross. Later in life, he moved his membership to the Mother Easter Missionary Baptist Church of Moultrie, GA, under the leadership of the late Reverend Emory Hopkins. A TIME OF LABOR Mr. Bowdry was employed with the Southwestern State Hospital and Timberlake Grocery Warehouse as a truck driver. He also worked at Archbold Memorial Hospital and Publix Grocery Store in Bradfordville, FL, for 16 years and later transferred to Publix Grocery Store in Thomasville, GA, for five years until he retired in 2021 due to illness. A Time of Transition Mr. Bowdry transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 7:30 PM at the home of his lovely daughter, Shameka L. Bowdry, in Thomasville, GA. A TIME TO CHERISH LOVE AND MEMORIES Mr. Bowdry was preceded in death by his father, Willie J. Bowdry, Sr., beautiful sister, Lora Ann Bowdry, and lovely auntie, Missouri Lee, all of Thomasville, GA. He leaves to cherish: his devoted and loving mother, Mrs. Marine Bowdry of Thomasville, GA; devoted daughter, Ms. Shameka L. Bowdry of Thomasville, GA; loving son, Reverend Christopher (Sabrena) Bowdry of Thomasville, GA; brother, Reverend Tony (Lovette) Bowdry of Thomasville, GA; three beautiful grandchildren, Azelea J. Bowdry, Oxzavier Rivers, and Christyanna Bowdry, all of Thomasville, GA; nephews, Michael Bowdry of Thomasville, GA, Rolando Holmes of Killen, TX, and Brandon Bowdry of Houston, TX; one niece, Toni Bowdry of Houston, TX; a host of aunts, Nadine Fleno, Ruth Marie Monroe, and Maggie Mincey, all of Thomasville GA, Dolrean Jackson of Detroit, MI, and Frances (Walter) Kelger of Newark, NJ; uncles, Johnie (Drucilla) Peterson of Thomasville, GA, Bennie Peterson of Newark, NJ, and Frankie Peterson of Miami, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
