Will "Sonny" Banks Jr.

The Obituary

Will Banks Jr. was born September 29, 1947, to the late Will Banks Sr. and Florine Smart Banks in Thomasville, GA. At an early age, he joined Clifford Temple CME Church where he was still a member.

Will was a graduate of the Douglass High School Class of 1966. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served from 1966 to 1969. Upon returning home, Will attended vocational school where he learned the skill of brick masonry. For over 40 years he was a master brick mason completing many jobs in and around South Georgia. While attending vocational school he met and married Angela Williams Banks and to this union one daughter, Candace was born.

Will Banks leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter Candace Banks of Atlanta, GA, Brothers David (Henrietta) Banks of Thomasville, GA, and Richard (Linda) Banks of Union City, GA. One sister Christine Banks of Thomasville, GA. One aunt Laura Smart of Connecticut. Nephews Carlton (Christy) Williams, Roderick (Zandra) Banks, Cameron (Towanda) Banks. Nieces Rasheedah (Ronald) Haywood, Jamie Bordeaux, Tawana (Ernest) Grandberry, Rochelle Banks, and Briana Banks. He also leaves to cherish his memories, devoted partner Denise Hudson, and kids Kelly, Devin, and Seiji. Also two special grandkids Kalashia and Ashton, as well as a host of cousins, family, and special friends at “The Office” and “The Living Room”.

Will was preceded in death by one sister Lutherine Banks.
