Robert Delaney, Jr.

Robert Delaney, Jr., son of the late Robert and Thelma Yellock Delaney, Sr., was born on June 1, 1931, in Grady County, Georgia. He embraced his faith at the age of nine, joining Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. A proud graduate of Douglass High School, Class of 1948, he furthered his education at Fort Valley State College.

Robert later moved to New York. He was drafted into the military and served honorably in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Following his service, he received an honorable discharge. He married Johnnie C. Williams, and together they welcomed a son, Robert Delaney, III.

His career included a long tenure with the New York Telephone Company, from which he retired. After retirement, Robert returned to Thomasville, Georgia, where he faithfully dedicated his time and talents to Pebble Hill Plantation from 1987 until 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Robert Delaney, III, of Los Angeles, California, along with numerous relatives and friends.
