Paul Edward Glass

Obituary

Paul Edward Glass, of Boston, Georgia, transitioned on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 64. Paul was born in Thomasville, Georgia, on March 6, 1959, to the late Kinnis Glass, Sr., and Lela Mae Mosley Glass. He was their youngest son.

Accepting Christ at an early age, he joined Glasgow African Methodist Episcopal Church. Paul’s spiritual ministry as a percussionist continued at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, First Missionary Baptist Church, and various other local churches. Recently, Paul was proud to join in worship and fellowship with his friend and mentor, Pastor Andrew Jones, and the Rebecca Church family.

Paul attended New Union and later graduated from Central High School in 1977, where he was incredibly proud to serve as drum major. Mentored by his older brothers, Paul was successfully hired by H&H Construction right out of high school, where he expanded his commercial and residential specialties (drywall, electrical, and framing) which later became a catalyst for his residential renovation and construction projects as a licensed contractor. Paul was an engineering enthusiast who could accurately craft floor plans and survey land without taking linear algebra or advanced calculus to understand geodesy. While working as a contractor, Paul quickly advanced at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as district floor manager to inspect, supervise, and train employees for over 25 years. Humbly, Paul was known for his love of at home family outdoors activities as he touched our hearts with his sense of humor and exemplary work ethic.

Paul leaves to cherish and celebrate the memories of his life: his wife of nearly 30 years, Gloria Glass; son, Joshua Paul Glass; daughter, Lydia Meredith Glass; godson, Bishop Jackson; goddaughter, Jada Marable; siblings, Janie Mae Gilbert of Boston, Georgia, Gladys Rose Favors of Thomasville, Georgia, Willie Joe Glass of McDonough, Georgia, John (Helen) Glass of Coolidge, Georgia, and Isiah (Dorothy) Glass of Pavo, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and some of his siblings: Nellie Ruth Glass, Kenneth Glass, James Benjamin Glass, and Josephine Glass.
