Reflection of Life

Margaret Freeman Lovett was born on August 22, 1951, to the late Willie Freeman and Mary Smith Freeman, she was called home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2025. Margaret accepted Christ at a very young age. She was a member at the First Unity M.B. Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board. She would also bring her granddaughters and made sure they were active participants in the youth department. Margaret’s famous words were, “I’ll make it through the grace of God.” That is how Margaret lived her life and got through the many challenges, bumps, and bruises, leaning and depending on the Lord. If Margaret could speak to us today, I believe she would say, I did not do or say everything exactly right, so if I said anything or did anything to offend you, please forgive me, I meant well. I love you all, but my time is up and I must go. To my sons, Antonio (deceased) and Kevin, I am proud of what you have become, and Momma loves you. To my granddaughters, Dee Dee, Cee Cee, Lee Lee, Grandma did the best she could for you all and I love you. I hope you all stay in the Lord and allow Him to guide you in your endeavors.

She was currently a member of First Unity Missionary Baptist Church; the pastor is Rev. Charlie Ross. Margaret loved the Lord. She had a big heart and wanted the best for everyone.

She started her career working as a CNA. She worked at several local nursing homes and in private duty nursing. Later, she worked in the dry cleaning industry. Afterwards she moved to childcare services. She operated a residential cleaning company along with childcare services. Upon retirement, she went back to work as a Patient Care Tech until her health failed her.

Her primary goals in life were to be a devout Christian and to provide the best possible life for her sons. Later, her son Tony married and blessed her with three grandchildren, whom she dearly loved and strived to provide the best life for.

Her favorite pastimes was spending time with her son Kevin, her grandchildren, going to the gym, and online shopping.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kevin Terrell Lovett and Monica Vanessa Redding-Lovett (daughter-in-law) of Thomasville, GA.

Her grandchildren: Aaliyah Le’Asianique Lovett, Cierra Le’Amani Lovett, and Demariah Le’che Lovett, all of Thomasville, GA.

Her siblings: Johnnie Mae King from Florida, Gladys Shiver from Thomasville, GA, Dorothy Brinson from Thomasville, GA, Roger Freeman (Helen) from Thomasville, GA, and Carolyn Dumas from Thomasville, GA.

Her best friends: Constance (Connie) Spencer, Eartha Davis, Maerene Major, and Luciel Green, all of Thomasville, GA.

And a host of additional family members such as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Antonio James Lovett, and her sister Mattie Freeman Williams.
