Kenneth Klavin Johnson was born on June 24, 1959, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Lonnie Johnson Sr. and the late Annie Ruth Franklin Johnson. Kenny peacefully transitioned from his earthly home on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Archbold Living in Thomasville, Georgia.
Kenny was a hardworking man who was always willing to help others and was never afraid to try something new. Growing up, he was very athletic and took pride in being a Thomasville High Bulldog and graduated in 1977. He loved his family and friends and often spoke with great pride about his daughter, Patrice, and his granddaughter, Ebere. He also loved to cook. Homemade lasagna and barbecue were two of his signature dishes, and he enjoyed sharing them with the people he loved.
Kenny lived a good life and worked faithfully over the years. He worked at Sunnyland, served as a firefighter, and finished his career as a delivery driver for Budweiser, where he met many people and made many friends. His work gave him the opportunity to connect with others, and he never met a stranger. Kenny had a friendly, laid-back personality that made people feel comfortable around him. He was also a devoted caregiver to his father, making sure he had what he needed to enjoy his latter years.
Kenny was raised in the church and developed his faith and belief in God at an early age. He joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, in Metcalf, GA where he continued to grow in his walk with the Lord. Throughout his life, he leaned on his faith to carry him through difficult times and to serve as an anchor in every season.
Those left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory include his daughters, Patrice Breyown Cunningham of Atlanta, Georgia, and [name] of Florida; his beloved granddaughter, Ebere Cunningham of Atlanta, Georgia, who was his pride and joy and whom he loved dearly; his brothers, Lonnie Johnson Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Willie James Johnson of Thomasville, Georgia, Rodney Johnson of Orlando, Florida, and Chad Johnson of Monticello, Florida; and his sister, Jewel Johnson of Thomasville, Georgia.
He also leaves behind a special cousin, Lovetta Bowdry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Marion and Joyce Ann Smith; and his brothers, Michael J. Johnson and Dwight B. Johnson.
