Edward James "Bubba" Baker, Sr., the second eldest child of Roosevelt and Helen Baker, was born on April 1, 1944, in Thomasville, Georgia. He attended school in Thomasville Public School System and was a member of Douglas High School Class of 62.
He enlisted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He faithfully served his country twenty plus years before retiring. After retiring from the Army, he worked at the post office for over twenty years before his retirement.

In his leisure, he loved fishing and hunting. Bubba's favorite past time was riding in his truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Helen Baker; sister, Annie Mae Abrams; brother John Henry Baker;
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Edward James Baker, Jr. of Thomasville, GA,; Kevin Baker (Jasmine) of McDonough, GA, god daughter, Tiffany Smith of McDonough, GA.,; sister, Rosa Rone of Thomasville, GA.; Neil Baker (Samara) of Perry, GA.; significant other Mattie Carr of Montgomery, AL.; devoted nephew and caregiver, Kenny Baker of Thomasville, GA.; two special friends, Bay Hayes and Richard Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins whom he loved dearly.
