The Final Act
Edna Mae Hardy-Hill was born February 14, 1943, in Thomasville, Georgia, the only child of the late Leroy and Hagar Hardy.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of Bethany Congregational Church of Thomasville, Georgia where she was a member of the choir and served as a trustee.
Edna attended Douglass High School, where she was involved in various activities, graduated 1961; attended Bennett College, Greensboro, North Carolina, graduated 1965 with a BS degree in Psychology; attended Howard University, Washington, D.C., graduated 1967 with a Master’s degree in Psychology.
Edna started a 30-year career with the National Institute of Mental in Bethesda, Maryland, that culminated as the Branch Chief overseeing the review and approval of federal grants for mental health studies. During her working career she enjoyed traveling to Africa, Asia, Caribbean Islands, Mexico, and Canada; finally returning to Thomasville in 2001.
In 1974 Edna married Davis Vincent Hill at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, in Thomasville, Georgia. Edna and Vincent celebrated 50 years of marriage where she was a devoted wife.

Edna was a pillar of the community where she was a donor to the Second Harvest, Samaritan Purse, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Carter Center, NAACP, Life Outreach, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Mercy Ships, Smile Train, Obama Foundation and numerous other organizations in which she contributed.
She leaves to mourn her husband Davis Vincent Hill, two grandchildren, Vincent and Shienna Manning, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Beverly Ford, Linda Bryan, two aunts, Dorothey Wright (Thomasville, Georgia) and Corene Walden (Miami, Florida), numerous cousins, Kenneth (Lillie) Wright, Barbara (Samuel) Awoniyi of Tallahassee, Florida, Sheila (Bernard) Davis, and Jeffrey Wright of Thomasville, Georgia, Dorquetta Robinson, Powder Springs, Georgia, Eric (Agnes) Walden of Havana, Florida, Daniel Boone (Barbara) Walden, Terry Walden, Paula Walden of Miami, Florida, Vincent (Maggie) Walden of Port St. Lucie, Benjamin (Edde Mae) Hatcher of Thomasville, Georgia, Emory Coleman of Oakland, California, bules. and other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sons, Vincent and Michael Hill.
