Boyd Z Hollis was born on April 24th, 1947 in Pavo, GA to the late Brown Hollis Jr and Lillie Mae Mays. He attended Magnolia High School and he spent his young adult years as a master typewriter repairman by trade working for Joe Rizzolios for many years before the shops closing. He worked for Warner’s in his later years before ultimately retiring from Southwestern State Hospital in 2012. Boyd was a hard worker who spent his retired years diving into his greatest hobbies which included fishing, hunting, and gardening. He never held back but would always make you laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Brown Hollis Jr and Lillie Mae Mays; Keila Monroe (daughter), Josephine Monroe (granddaughter), Ida Bell Hollis Rayford (sister) Mitchell Hollis (brother), Lula Mae Hollis Smith (sister), Wesley Hollis (brother), Brown Hollis (brother).
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Boyd C Hollis, Andrew Hollis, Shannon Monroe, Latoya Beckwith, Lakita Hollis Munford (Alphonso), and Richuna Scott. Grandchildren: Jamiah Monroe, Curby Monroe, Jeffrey Daphney Jr, Mario Hollis, Chasia Thompson, Jalen Monroe, Morgan Monroe, Jenkins Simon, Makynzie Munford, Karsyn Munford, Karsyn Adams and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.
