Betty Sheppard was born on December 6, 1945 in Boston, GA to the late Robert and Marie Taylor. Betty Sheppard lived in Thomasville, GA for the most of her life. She worked as a cook at Thomasville City Schools and in Environmental Services at Southwestern State Hospital. She was a member of Richland Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully in the choir until her health began to fail. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her humor. On May 2, 2022, Betty Sheppard quietly departed this life at the age of 76. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John Sheppard; daughters and son: Latrenda (Dunnell) Webb, Sabrenna (Tommie) Jones, Gwendolyn Sheppard, and Anthony McCray, all of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren: Eric Hadley (Keisha), Erica McCray (Stephen), Latoya McCray, Bridget Hadley, Anthony R. McCray, Jeremy Jones, Justice Jones, Martavious McCray, and Jaquez McCray; 11 Great Grandchildren; siblings: Constance Dennis, of Ocala, Florida, Phennie Stephens, of Boston, Georgia, Annie Jackson, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Fleming, Mary (Elliott) Freeman, Cotrena Hill, all of Thomasville, Georgia, Isaac (Diane) Taylor, Marvin (Wendy) Taylor, and Darrell (Dia) Taylor, all of Atlanta, Georgia; two aunts: Charlotte Parker of Thomasville, Georgia, and Ethel Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Herbert Taylor.
